NEWS : LDA DG reviews six illegal housing schemes

LAHORE:Director General Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Ahmad Aziz Tarar visited six illegal housing schemes as well as approved schemes to see scheme plans and water pumping on Monday.

DG LDA made this visit to take action against the violations of scheme plans and preparing suggestions for resolving the issues besides making recommendations to take action against illegal pumping by private schemes and individuals as well.

DG LDA visited the private schemes on the direction of Lahore High Court and Judicial Water Commission. He reviewed the status of implementation of approved scheme plans and planning standards in the schemes located on Ferozepur Road. He also inspected the width of roads, plots reserved for parks, public buildings and other buildings. He reviewed the situation of recovery of eco-charges and water pumping in these schemes and checked the relevant records.

The Director General directed the concerned staff to identify illegal installation of water pumps. The rules for taking action against illegal pumping should be reviewed and a report should be prepared before the next hearing of the case. Chief Metropolitan Planner Syed Nadeem Akhtar Zaidi and the concerned director were also present on the occasion.

WDD: Women Development Department Punjab met to purchase land for setting up Women Development Complex and discussed PC1 of the Complex. The meeting chaired by the WDD secretary was briefed by the officers concerned that land related issues had been settled with the Lahore Development Authority.

NEWS: 28 buildings sealed for illegal commercial use

LAHORE : Lahore Development Authority (LDA) carried out a grand operation against illegal commercialisation and sealed 28 properties in various localities here on Saturday. Officials said the operation was carried out on the direction by Lahore Development Authority Director General Ahmed Aziz Tarar. They said the staff of Town Planning Zone 1 conducted a grand operation against illegal commercial use of residential buildings in different areas of the city and sealed a total of 28 properties at various locations. These included 10 properties in New Muslim Town and nine each in Shadman and Shah Jamal areas. Meanwhile, Lahore Development Authority announced a pre-bid conference of contractors, interested in construction of 4,000 apartments under Lahore Development Authority City Naya Pakistan Apartments scheme. NEWS: LDA opens tenders of 4,000 apartments amid allegations

LAHORE:Amid the allegations of irregularities levelled by contractors, Lahore Development Authority (LDA) opened the tenders of first phase of 4000 apartments to be constructed in LDA City New Pakistan Apartments project. The tenders for Package One for the construction of 4,000 apartments were opened here on Wednesday, said LDA officials in a statement. They said two tenders were opened for construction of 15 blocks in Package One. There will be 32 apartments in each block. Thus, tenders were opened for construction of 960 apartments under Single Stage Two Envelope process. On the other hand, Constructors Association of Pakistan (CAP) sent a legal notice to Chief Engineer LDA raising questions about the announced tendering process. NEWS : LDA approves construction of 4,000 apartments

LAHORE: The governing body of Lahore Development Authority (LDA) on Thursday approved the construction of 4,000 residential units at a cost of about Rs10 billion in the first phase of LDA City Naya Pakistan Apartments project. “All citizens who will be provided mortgage financing facility by Naya Pakistan Housing Authority and commercial banks will now be eligible to purchase these apartments,” a statement issued by the authority read. The 7th meeting of the LDA governing body was presided over by Vice Chairman SM Imran. The meeting was informed that LDA has planned to construct these apartments on 563 kanals of land in Mouza Halloki within a year’s time. As many as 125 blocks of ground-plus-three-storey apartments, each comprising 32 residential units, will be built in the first phase. Mosques and other amenities will also be provided in the area.
