NEWS: Lahore administration recovers grabbed land from PML-N leader


LAHORE: The district administration in a joint operation with the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) recovered illegally grabbed land worth billions of rupees, from PML-N leader Saiful-Malook Khokhar, ARY News reported on Sunday.

Lahore district administration in the final phase of the operation recovered 80 kanal land worth billions of rupees, from the illegal possession of Saiful-Malook Khokhar.

The recovered land has been declared ‘Nazool Land’ and will be used in the public interest projects, an anti-corruption official said.

The Anti-corruption establishment Punjab had registered a case against Khokhar, a former MPA, on the request of Lahore’s deputy commissioner, officials said.

An Anti-Corruption Court on Saturday granted interim bail to Saiful-Malook Khokhar and Raja Arshad till December 10.

Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE), Punjab has booked PML-N leader and Ex- MPA from Lahore over charges of corruption and tax evasion.

The court has also summoned the case record from the anti-corruption establishment.

The PML-N leader has been accused of causing loss to the national exchequer through fraud and forgery with non-payment of property tax over allotment of a plot.

NEWS : LDA approves construction of 4,000 apartments

  LAHORE:   The governing body of Lahore Development Authority (LDA) on Thursday approved the construction of 4,000 residential units at a cost of about Rs10 billion in the first phase of LDA City Naya Pakistan Apartments project. “All citizens who will be provided mortgage financing facility by Naya Pakistan Housing Authority and commercial banks will now be eligible to purchase these apartments,” a statement issued by the authority read. The 7th meeting of the LDA governing body was presided over by Vice Chairman SM Imran. The meeting was informed that LDA has planned to construct these apartments on 563 kanals of land in Mouza Halloki within a year’s time. NEWS: Pakistan set to begin Gwadar shipyard project

Pakistan has finalised the details for the construction of a new shipyard in Gwadar, the country’s deep seaport in Balochistan, with an aim to incentivise commercial shipbuilding and repair industry, create new jobs and spur economic growth. Pakistan’s federal and provincial governments have announced a joint collaboration by signing an MoU for the establishment of Gwadar shipyard. The project in the strategically located Gwadar city is of “great regional importance” and also significant for the socio-economic development of Balochistan and overall Pakistan as it will “create employment for the locals” and boost revenue generation for the province, said Federal Minister for Defence Production Zobaida Jalal.  Gwadar shipyard will offer shipbuilding and repairing as well as training facilities benefiting the whole region, she said.
